Audit trail – Verify the chain
Preliminary requirements
Required conditions
- You can reach the console.
Required persons
1 × Operator. Estimated time: about 2 minutes.

- A computer or phone with a web browser, on the same network as the server

Safety conditions
Caution
A successful check shows that the record has not been edited through normal means. It does not prove that nobody with access to the server's files rebuilt the whole chain.
Procedure

Select the Audit trail tab.

Select Verify chain.

Read the result:
Result Meaning Action Chain intact, with the number of signed entries Every entry matches its fingerprint and links to the entry before it. None. Problems found: content changed after signing An entry was edited after it was written. Go to step 4. Problems found: does not link to the entry before it The chain has been broken or rebuilt. Go to step 4. Problems found: entries missing One or more entries were deleted. Go to step 4. Could not verify The console could not reach the server. Refer to Web console – Fault isolation: the console does not open (DMC-DLD-A-30-00-00-00A-400A-A). - 4
If problems were found, write down the entry numbers shown. Do not take further actions on the console. Report the result to whoever is responsible for the server.
Requirements after job completion
- The chain is intact, or a problem has been reported.
